dapple_family_new_2009-loAs new moms, many of us become slightly frantic at the thought of our pristine baby touching and (gulp) putting in his or her mouth on anything that hasn’t been thoroughly scrubbed and disinfected. When my son was born, I became somewhat of a germaphobe…but I always wondered if the cleaning solution I used did more harm than good.

About two months ago, I discovered Dapple cleaning products while browsing the internet. After reading a few reviews and finding the first product I wanted in stock (backordered on a few sites), I ordered the Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray.

You may be wondering – what is so special about Dapple?

Dapple takes the worry out of using harsh chemicals to clean your baby’s toys. Using natural ingredients, Dapple cleans toys in a safe way – without bleach, parabens, phthalates, dyes or synthetic fragrances. Basically, the non-anti-bacterial formula will kill germs on your baby’s toys without creating the risk of unhealthy chemicals being ingested…because you know that toy won’t stay out of your baby’s mouth for long! All Dapple products, including liquid dish soap and portable toy cleaner wipes, use biodegradable ingredients and are fragranced with natural essential oils. No harsh perfumes here!

So what’s the verdict on Dapple when put to the test?

The Dapple Toy Cleaner Spray and the Wipes both easily removed the icky food and who-knows-what remnants on my son’s toys (you know your toys are just as dirty), as well as removed fingerprints, leaving a fresh, clean scent. And, as an added bonus, I didn’t have to hide the toys to wait until they were dry just in case the chemicals were harmful. I loved the Dapple Dish Liquid as well – washing the milk residue off bottles and cleaning pacifiers was easy.

Overall, I am pleasantly surprised to find a natural, baby-specific line of products that isn’t harmful for baby and actually does clean and disinfect. Thanks Dapple!
