When it comes to clothing for my kids, I can be found scouring the racks of Target, Carters, Gap and Old Navy with the rest of ‘em. But I also like finding new sources for children’s clothing so that the kids can get something a little different too. One of the most fun perks of this Voice of Mom job is being introduced to new companies and discovering places that I might not have otherwise found on my own. This time, it’s all about LinenKids.
A wonderful line of clothing for both boys and girls, starting at infant size on up, the linen fabric is such a perfectly light texture that it makes for beautiful yet breathable clothing. And in the dead heat of summer, I love dressing the kids in something light. Made by Lithuanian women, a lot of the clothing you see on their website actually isn’t made until you place your order. How cool is that? I love that it’s not sitting on some dusty warehouse shelf just waiting to be purchased. It’s made with time, love and care.
The colors (or lack thereof) are soft and soothing and don’t scream out at you like so many kids’ clothing choices do. And when there is color, it’s subtle, just small touches here and there. And the quality! Oh the quality! We were sent this gorgeous linen dress and bonnet and the work that went into that … simply stunning. I might have gasped just a little when we first opened the package.
I love supporting companies like this … companies that have a concrete mission and really care about the work they’re putting out. There is no mass production here, just a lot of love sewn in with each and every stitch.
The next time you’re looking for something new for your children, do check out LinenKids. Whether it’s for your own children, or for a gift, you can’t go wrong.
