Bubbly water. Fizzy water. Sparkling water. Whatever you want to call it, it’s no secret that people love water with some light bubbles in it. It’s a nice change up from plain old regular water (which I happen to L-O-V-E). With all the emphasis on eating well and taking an organic approach to growing things, it’s no wonder that an organic sparkling water popped up in the market.
Totally Organica is USDA certified organic sparkling water. In fact, they say they are the first ever organic sparkling water. It’s available in eight flavors: Lemon Lime, Raspberry, Cranberry, Pomegranate, Berry, Melon, Green Apple and Mint. Flavored with essences of the fruits and herbs, it boasts no calories or bad ingredients.
The GOOD: The drinks have a hint of their flavor, making this a light, pleasant drink. The carbonation held up really well to frequent opening. In fact, one tester was able to drink this over the course of a week without losing its fizz. The flavor varieties offer a variety of tastes. These drinks are almost as healthy as plain water with zero sugars, carbs, calories, sodium or artificial flavorings, sweeteners or colors.
The BAD: The bottles are pretty large, which is why the testers ended up drinking these over several sittings. Also, there is absolutely no sweetness to these drinks since there are no sugars.
The MOM VERDICT
Sarah says: I used to get terrible headaches when my optometrist would set me up with absolutely perfect vision in both eyes. While it was a great idea to be perfect, I actually saw and felt better when my vision was a little less perfect in one eye. Likewise, on paper, this water sounds absolutely perfect. It has none of the bad stuff known to hurt our bodies. The flavors selection is awesome. And the bottles are very pretty. However, it would be an excellent water if it was a little less perfect – and had just a hint of sweetness to go with the hint of flavor. My tasters did like it, but they didn’t love it enough to have it again and again. That said, it was refreshing and different … so it’s worth a try.
