I love a good sauce, particularly a good barbecue or steak sauce. So when Country Bob’s contacted me about checking out Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce, I was game. The sauce bottle proclaims that it is for steak, hamburgers, chicken, fries and barbecue.
The GOOD: This sauce is like KC Masterpiece barbecue meets A-1 steak sauce, and it’s very, very tasty with a hint of spice. It definitely livens up otherwise quiet meats. The company is named for the sauce’s creator, Country Bob Edson, who perfected it in 1968, and the company has one of those good small company stories.
The BAD: The sauce is very liquidy. As a result, it can gush out if you aren’t careful. The first time you use it, watch out. Also, I wish it was more widely available in brick and mortar stores.
MONEY MATTERS: Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce is available in some stores and also online at the Country Bob’s site. Prices online start at $8 for two bottles.
The MOM VERDICT
Sarah says: I have to admit, I was less than thrilled when I overpoured the sauce the first time I used it. No one wants a surprise like that. But the sauce really tastes great, which made up for the trouble. I have tried it on pork, chicken, steak and more, and enjoyed it each time. I love the flavor and would definitely recommend trying it yourself.
