When you have a baby, everyone thinks of the baby, bringing tiny shoes and petite clothes. But what about the mom? Mothers go through a lot to give birth (and I am not just talking about labor!).

That’s what is so nice about the Belli Motherhood Essentials Kit. It contains Pure Comfort Nursing Cream, Eye Brightening Cream, Body Firming Serum, and Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer. Contained in a clear plastic travel bag, it’s primed for giving to the new mom.

Is it worth purchasing?

The GOOD: The wide array of products in this kit will definitely brighten a new mom’s day. It’s got something to handle four common problems: aching nipples, tired eyes, sagging skin and germs. The dye-free products are allergy tested and screened to ensure that they don’t have harmful chemicals.

The BAD: The hand sanitizer leaves hands feeling a little tacky, which isn’t that pleasant. Also, if a mom isn’t nursing, the nipple cream isn’t useful.

MONEY MATTERS: This kit is available online at Maternitique. It’s also available nationally at boutiques, retailers and spas. It retails for $39.

The MOM VERDICT

Sarah says: As someone who has given birth twice, I can tell you how good it feels when someone brings a new mom a special present just for her. The aches and pains of postpartum are … uncomfortable at best. I would have loved to receive a kit like this when I was in the hospital. It has several items that would be great for a little R&R (Love the eye cream!), and the fact that it’s safe for allergy sufferers makes it all the better.
