I am an admitted lip gloss addict and have been for most of my life. However, I could never find a lip gloss that had everything I wanted; shimmer, color, moisturizing and all-natural ingredients.

During a college class, I had to complete a paper on animal research and was appalled at the number of cosmetic companies that tested their products on animals and included animal bi-products in their finished products.  Being an avid animal lover, I did not want to contribute to these practices by purchasing these products.  I assumed I was destined to have to give up my beloved lip gloss until my mother suggested that I try making my own.  She and I had many recipes that we tried until we came up with the perfect one. We gave our lip gloss to family and friends as gifts and enjoyed it ourselves for many years.

In early 2000, my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  During her fight, she not only used traditional medicine, but also tried many types of alternative healing.  She and I believed that her life could be extended by making sure that she was putting natural and healthy things in her body.  This is one of the main reasons that we made our lip gloss all-natural.

Today, people are scrutinizing ingredients in their food, buying organic produce and making sure they are putting all-natural food in their bodies.  However, most people don’t think twice about the ingredients in their lip gloss.  Although lip gloss is not made to be eaten, it is worn on your lips and when you lick your lips, take a drink of your morning coffee, or a bite of your organic apple, you may be ingesting some of your lip gloss.  Therefore, shouldn’t your lip gloss be all-natural too?

We thought so!

My mother passed away in the summer of 2006, two weeks before I got married.  Although she is not physically with us any longer, Everyday Lip Gloss is made in my mother’s honor and a portion of the proceeds go towards helping to find the cure for Breast Cancer.
