We are a total LeapFrog family. Ever since Nicholas was old enough, we had the Fridge Phonics on our fridge. And even though he got a Nintendo DS as a big brother present when Madeline was born, he loves his Leapster and takes it everywhere. The other day I heard him playing a SpongeBob Leapster game in the backseat of the car and he was counting change. What I love most about the LeapFrog company? It’s like sneaky learning. The kids are playing games and having fun, but all the while, they’re learning. I love that.
Last weekend, LeapFrog had a media event in New York City and invited mommy bloggers to attend. They had two people from their educational team on hand to answer questions from the audience, take suggestions and feedback and share some new things that they’re working on. Afterwards, attendees got a chance to see some product demos and walk away with a very generous swag bag. Thank you, LeapFrog!
One new thing that we learned about during the presentation is LeapFrog’s new Learning Path. You can now plug your system into the computer and download your child’s activity so you can instantly see what they’ve been working on and playing with, and what areas are your child’s strongest and weakest. How cool is that?
During the event, LeapFrog was referred to as “vitamin-sprinkled cupcakes,” and I love that analogy. The kids get their fun quotient and we’re giving them something to play with that we can feel good about. It doesn’t get better than that … now to order Madeline her very own Fridge Phonics.
P.S. If you haven’t discovered LeapFrog’s new Tag Reading System, do check it out. We love it here, and it’s been a great tool to help Nicholas with his reading.
