The Voice of Mom

Now that my 9-month-old daughter is a little speed demon on the floor when crawling, I hate how sore it must be making her little knees, poor thing.  Between her sore knees and her cold feet because she refuses to keep socks on, it’s quite the day-to-day challenge.  That was, until the Comfy Crawlers from Gissy Bella showed up.  The Comfy Crawlers come in a wide array of patterns and fabrics and are made in the USA by seamstress moms and grandmas.

The GOOD: The knees are nice and padded with a quilted design, perfect for protecting Madeline’s knees as she scoots around on the floor.  I love the wide lounge-pant style of these pants, which almost brings to mind those flared leg pants that were popular in the 70s, but in a good way.  The adjustable waist band is awesome, awesome, awesome – it’s the kind where it has an elastic band with notches that you fasten on a button, depending on how much give you want in the waist.

The BAD: While the adjustable waist band is awesome, make sure you have the elastic fastened when putting the pants on and taking them off, otherwise it will take you forever and a day (as it did me) to fish the elastic back out from inside the waist band.  There is one button in the center for both sides of the elastic waist to be fastened on.  I think it would make for a cleaner waist (read: not bunchy) if there were two buttons, one for each side, as many of the kids jeans come with nowadays.

Cate says: I adore the style of these fashionable wide-leg Comfy Crawlers.  They remind me a bit of cabana-style pants and are perfect for lounging … which is, of course, not exactly what babies do, but you get my drift.  There are a variety of patterns, and I love that this is something that not every baby in the playgroup will be wearing … although they will want to be!
