October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is an illness that has claimed the lives of millions of women, but through research and education, it may not have to anymore. That’s why The Voice of Mom is featuring items with a Think Pink theme — things where a portion of proceeds go towards research and support for breast cancer victims.

If you have large breasts, then Kush Supports Like A Dream could be perfect for you. The company calls its product a “sleep accessory” and what it does is support the weight of your bosom while you sleep on your side, thereby aligning your breasts with your body so that you are more balanced while you sleep. The Kush Support is recommended for women with C cups and larger. And the company has partnered with UNCC Breast Cancer Research Institute.

While we’re on the subject of breasts or boobs or whatever you like to call them, I want to tell you about another product that is supporting the Think Pink! movement. Straptinis ($38 and up) are bra straps adorned with Swarovski crystals or colorful glass beads. Basically they are meant to be seen. The company has released a special breast cancer awareness Straptini as well and a portion of the proceeds from that will be donated to breast cancer awareness.

Bralief, who’s cute slogan is “Let’s get perky!” is a product that prevents bra straps from slipping ($9.95 and up). It’s available in a variety of colors, but 20 percent of the net sales of the Cotton Candy — that’s pink and white — one will be donated to breast cancer research.

I think that might be enough breast talk for the day. Another company donating to good causes (breast cancer, ovarian cancer and scleroderma) is Beauty With A Cause. The company offers safer cosmetics and is donating 10 percent of its profits yearly to good causes.
