061Even little kids deserve a bit of pizazz when it comes to their clothing. That’s why we were so psyched to learn about Baby Monkey NY onesies. When company owner, Elizabeth Wong, offered to let us try them, we jumped at the chance so fast that I was cleaning coffee off the ceiling. Well, not quite, but pretty close.

Baby Monkey has several cute designs that are imprinted on organic cotton onesies from Egypt. The material is so soft that I made everyone in the family rub their cheek against it.

But design aside, how do these cute-t’s hold up to wear and tear?

The GOOD: After a day of wearing and napping in a Baby Monkey onesie, it still looked like a onesie. Sure, the neck was a little more stretched out than earlier in the day, but that’s normal for a mover like nine-month-old Paige.

The BAD: There is a limited color selection and only one shirt available for mom. But then, it is called Baby Monkey, right?

MONEY MATTERS: At $24.99 each, they are a tad on the pricey side, but that is also in line with a significant amount of organic and environmentally friendly items. To purchase or find a store that carries these, go to Baby Monkey online.

If you are in the Stamford, Connecticut, area, you can also find Baby Monkey at The Green Faire on Oct. 4. Click here for details.

The MOM VERDICT

Sarah says: I wasn’t sure what to expect from an organic onesie. The fabric turned out to be thick and luxurious — exactly what I would like on my little girl’s skin. It was so soft when it arrived and only got softer after a washing. And the designs are very, very cute. I love Baby Monkey’s onesies. The company also sells t-shirts for little kids, so I will be ordering one for my three-year-old very soon. If there was a bigger selection for mom, I would get one too.

Cate says: The onesies are adorable and I love their various designs and sayings.  I’m a big fan of having items that you won’t see on every other baby on the street, and you’ll find that here.  The onesie was very soft, well stitched and the fit was true to size.  My only wish is that there were more girly colors offered (selection for onesies is currently maroon, sage and white — depending on the shirt). Because the owner of Baby Monkey is inspired and influenced by Feng Shui, I’m wondering if that might have some bearing on colors chosen, and if so, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
